Ireland’s top journalists kick-off in aid of Haiti
18 February 10

Some of Ireland’s best-known journalists will go head-to-head in a game of 11-a-side soccer in aid of the victims of Haiti’s recent earthquake.

The game takes place in Tolka Park, Drumcondra, at 2pm on Saturday 20 February.

Dragon’s Den presenter and Sunday Business Post deputy editor Richard Curran and economist, broadcaster and newspaper columnist David McWilliams are among the well-known faces who will grace the hallowed Tolka turf as the journalists of Independent Newspapers compete against the writers from the Sunday Business Post and Irish Examiner under FIFA rules in a 90-minute game.

Entry to the stadium is free and parents are encouraged to bring their kids as there will be a children’s penalty shoot-out at half time.

The game is being played in aid of the Haven Partnership which builds homes for the poor in Haiti. Any donations to www.havenpartnership.com are welcome.

So get down there and show your support.
